Kodiak Mark One

These are Extremely rare, fitted to late SI models and very early SII's. I have only seen a few of these. These are very angular heaters with rectangular duct work that fits underneath the dash against the firewall.

Finally I have found one of these heaters complete and installed in a land rover. See below:

Here you can see a complete Mk 1 as fitted to an early series 2 109 wagon. Shown are the interior distribution box, blower, and intake ductwork.

Ok this is a horrible picture of this heater, but its all I could find (chances are,
you'll never run into one) This is a 1958 SI 88 Station Wagon.  If you look closelyyou can see the basic shape of this heater and distinguish it from the other Kodiak Models.

This looks VERY similar to the heater in the series one above.  It looks like the section under the dash is not original

I finally got some pics of a Mark One that was removed from a series one in British Columbia. Not the best pics but should give you some ideas on the various components. Core blower distribution box. Looks needlessly complicated but still interesting.

Here is a shot of what appears to be another portion of the under wing intake duct. Its pretty dificult to get pictures of these parts let alone accurate information. If you have any info send it to me at pangolin4x4@aol.com.
